Our Story
PRODUCING HIGH QUALITY EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL SINCE 1992
Eritenel family started manufacturing olive oil presses in İzmir in 1940's in the family owned foundry. Our olive orchard was started in 1992 by İrfan Eritenel with a small plot of land in Mordoğan, Turkey. His love of the Olive trees dancing against the background of the Aegean sea sparked his interest in surrounding himself with the silvery-green beauties that grace the western coast of Turkey.
Since 2011 we have been pressing olives in a small pressing facility located among its trees in Mordoğan. From seedling to finished olive oil bottles, Zeytinel is committed to maintaining the high standards of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Time, care, quality, and cleanliness are key values of Zeytinel. Our mission is to maintain high-quality olive oil that retains the essence of the olives on our land and exemplifies the standards of extra virgin olive oil.
Our Olive Oil
Zeytinel is very proud to have an olive oil classified as extra virgin, not only through chemical analysis but through an expert tasting. This year's harvest produced an extra virgin olive oil rated medium on the robust scale. Here is the chemical analysis as well as the sensory notes of this year's press. No negative taste defects were noted.
"Aroma reflected mostly green olive fruit with the primary descriptor of tomato leaf. Other descriptors included Herbaceous, grass artichoke and buttery with hints of pine and nutty. Medium astringency was noted. This sample qualifies for the grade of Extra Virgin and is considered Medium on the robustness scale." from 2015 harvest
Our olive oil conforms to International Olive Council (IOC) standards. We consistently get less than 0.3 % oleic acid in test results every year.
